NYC VIBE was front and center with the producers, directors and actors to celebrate the incredible Broadway season being enjoyed by so many.
For seventy years, the Drama Desk Awards have been a unique voice celebrating the artistry, innovation, and unstoppable creativity of New York’s stages. Since 1955, they’ve been the only major theater award to honor excellence across all of New York City’s theatrical landscape—from big-budget spectacles to boundary-pushing new works.
An exciting and heartfelt moment took place when actor and comedian Jon Cryer honored his mother – the acclaimed playwright and actress Gretchen Cryer for her theatrical achievements, most notably celebrating her winning a Dramatists Guild Lifetime Achievement Award.

An important topic on the red carpet was the small number of women directors working on huge Broadway performances – the number seems to be growing ever so slightly.
John Lithgow has won multiple Drama Desk Awards throughout his illustrious stage career, recently taking home the award for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Play for his acclaimed role in the Broadway production of Giant.
Marla Mindell is up for three Tony Awards for her creative work on Titanique which she told Mike that she still can’t believe…
