From computer engineer to Mrs. Florida to billionairess, Jackie Siegel saw herself as the embodiment of the American Dream. As the wife of David “The Timeshare King” Siegel and mother of their eight children, they invited America to visit their most grandiose venture yet:
They built the largest private home in America in Orlando, Florida – a $100 million house big enough for her dreams and inspired by the Palace of Versailles.
NYC VIBE caught up with Academy award winner F Murray Abraham outside the theater to reflect on his role and how he approached it..
But with the Great Recession of 2008 looming, Jackie and David’s dreams begin to crumble, along with their lavish lifestyle. The Queen of Versailles on Broadway explores the true cost of fame and fortune, and one family’s pursuit of the American Dream – no matter cost.
The Queen of Versailles was a documentary back in 2012 that took us behind the front doors of a billionaire family and their financial challenges in the wake of the economic crisis.
With epic proportions of Shakespearean tragedy, the film follows two unique characters, whose rags-to-riches success stories reveal the innate virtues and flaws of the American Dream.
Now prepare to be entrained – laugh and cry with this family on Broadway this fall
